Picture this: you’re at the pool, it’s hot, and someone hands you one of those cute drinks with a little umbrella in it. You take a sip, instantly refreshing, but that’s not alcohol.
No, that’s Poolside — Elemental’s latest summer release. A limited release watermelon co-fermented coffee from Producer Jairo Arcila in Quindio, Colombia.
For this lot, ripe coffee cherries were handpicked and sorted, before being floated to remove low density beans.
From here, the coffee undergoes a 48 hour anaerobic fermentation process alongside watermelon & wine yeast.
As the coffee ferments, intense watermelon flavors are transferred to the already fruity beans, resulting in a brew that is light, refreshing, and exactly what summer tastes like.
