About the region:
Dipilto, Nicaragua is the last town on the Nicaraguan Highway 15 heading North to Honduras. Nesteled among contrasting hillsides of tropical jungles then suddenly around a bend an unexpected evergreen forest. The hills of the Coordillera Dipilto-Jalapa Natural Reserve host among their lush peaks, the highest point in Nicaragua, the 2,106 meter Pico Mogotón Volcano. The coffee grown in this region is among the best in Nicaragua with the top quality coffees scoring on par with the rest of Central America. One of the advantages of this region is the proximity of the mills to the farms. Many farms are less than 30 minutes from the dry mill which helps control the quality of the drying process and facilitates testing unique processing methods.
